1. Who we are
Taskog (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an AI-powered productivity application designed to help people manage task overwhelm through brain dumping and smart task extraction. We operate at taskog.app.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following types of information when you use Taskog:
- Account information: Email address and display name via Google Sign-In.
- Brain dump content: The text you submit to be processed into tasks. This is stored securely under your account.
- Usage data: Anonymized analytics including which features you use, session length, and task completion rates.
- Device information: Browser type, operating system, and approximate timezone (used to show correct dates).
- Subscription & Billing: For Pro users, our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy) collects transaction details, billing address, and basic payment info. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers.
3. How we use your information
- To authenticate you and maintain your account.
- To process your brain dumps and return extracted tasks via our AI engine (Taskog AI).
- To improve Taskog's features and fix bugs using aggregated, anonymized analytics.
- To send you important service-related updates (not marketing emails without consent).
4. AI processing
Your brain dump text is sent to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) to extract tasks. Anthropic processes this data under their own privacy policy and does not use your data to train models without explicit consent. We recommend you do not include highly sensitive personal information (financial data, passwords, medical specifics) in your brain dumps.
5. Data storage & security
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), a secure cloud database. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access control rules, and authentication tokens. We do not store passwords — all sign-in is handled via Google OAuth.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Google Firebase (storage and authentication)
- Anthropic (AI text processing — brain dump content only)
- Lemon Squeezy (payment processing and subscription management)
- Vercel (website hosting)
All service providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and may only use your data to provide their services.
7. Your rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by emailing us at support@taskog.app. We will respond within 30 days. You may also delete your account directly from within the app settings.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies for session management and authentication. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect app functionality.
9. Children's privacy
Taskog is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a prominent notice on the app. Continued use of Taskog after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
